Lincoln Memorial University has planted its flag in Jacksonville as it readies to open a medical and veterinary school in Orange Park, both firsts for the city.

The $36 million four-year medical and three-year veterinary school will ceremonially open March 23 — establishing the Tennessee-based private university’s formal entry to North Florida’s in-demand health care market.

To Lincoln Memorial President Jason McConnell, the region’s expansive health care hub made site selection a natural fit.
